East Side House’s elementary and middle school programs offer academic and enrichment services to children in kindergarten through eighth grade. Offered in school and community-based settings, the programs enhance a child’s academic and social skills by providing supplementary educational, cultural, and recreational activities as well as events after school. The programs put a special emphasis on STEM learning to prepare students for the 21st century world.
East Side House offers a free educational summer day camp program for children going into first grade through children going into sixth grade that are not enrolled in summer school. Designed to keep students learning and moving when they are out of school for the summer, the seven-week camp includes reading, writing, mathematics, painting, singing, dancing, yoga, team sports, and planned field trips out of the city.
After school programs offer students additional learning time in a fun, engaging, and safe environment. Students are offered a wide variety of activities including homework help, robotics, team sports, karate, dance, and music. Educational methods are used to build and reinforce the skills needed to reach New York State standards for promotion and graduation.
