Over the course of 3 months, these 8th graders were tasked with researching Washington, D.C. monuments and museums and sharing the significance of these sites with the group. In mid-February, the students embarked on a 4 day trip where they got to explore the city including Howard University, the Capitol Building, the National Museum of African American History and Culture, and a walking tour of D.C.’s monuments. Special thanks to Board Member Chris LaSusa for his support of this trip. It was an incredible experience for our young people!
